STUCK IN A RUT!!

Well I have to write because I need some motivation I guess. I'm stuck in a rut about this weight loss process. Here's the deal.. I do great during the week but when the weekend comes and it's time to go out to dinner (we don't always, but have the last 2 weekends), then I do horrible! The other thing is that I have a gym membership but it's 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back and it just cost too much in gas to go all that way. I know I need the work out and therefore the trip would be worth it to my body and health, but it would not be beneficial for my wallet to spend that much in gas to get there.
So I guess you can see where I'm at. I have lost 9 pounds but it's taken 1 and 1/2 months to do so. I do have to say, when I went for my annual checkup the other day the gyno said wow you've shed some pounds since last year... so that was a "aha" moment!
I guess I'm just wishing I had more will power and that I had more motivation. Any incentive or ideas you can give are always welcome!! Thanks!!

I think you are doing great. 9 pounds is amazing!!Totally understand about the drive and the gas to the gym. Maybe if you walked-you would get an extra workout in and save on gas-j/k!! Good luck!!

You ARE doing great! I know you feel a crunch for time because of the contest and all but the big picture is... even if it takes you a year or more to lose the weight you want you'll be able to look back and know that you are in a better place than you were a year before. The alternative is to go to your next years' appointment, see the scale and know that you're up a few pounds from this year. As long as you're making forward progress, that's what's important. Also, research shows that people who lose weight quickly are not very likely to keep it off. Again, big picture shows that slower weight loss only means that you're firmly establishing new habits that are likely to stick. I know you know this but hopefully it will be a good reminder to help you stick with it. DON'T QUIT!! It's not easy- but it's SOOOOOOOO worth it!

Thanks girls! I stepped on the scale this morning and it was another pound down (and this is "period week"),so that was great! Also I feel that I'm not in this to loose it for the contest, I really want to loose it for me and my girls. I want to be able to play with them more and not be out of breath and hot and miserable etc... I appreciate the support!

Like the advice given to the Little Engine that could...I think I can, I think I can...and in the long run it'll mean a smaller caboose :)

The average weight loss in WW is 1-2 pounds per week so you are doing marvelous! don't give up, get out and do your exercise around the farm, put on some earphones and dance your way through the fields! I have no doubt in your ability to win this battle! Nina

Hey 9 pound is awesome. One to 2 pounds a week is the ideal way to lose weight if you are going to keep it off. Sounds like you are on track. Oh...a tip for eating out. Have the waiter bring you a to go box when he brings your meal. Before you even begin eating put half of it in the box.

I have to get on track with losing weight myself.

A thought for activity...incorporate an activity that your girls love and do it together. Like kicking the soccer ball out in the front yard or even just going for a walk together to pick flowers (even weeds can motivate a little girl) :)
Things I am thinking about doing myself.

Oh...and yes I remember you too. It is neat to be able to connect over the internet. Now I know more about some people that used to live in St. Cloud than when they actually lived here and crossed my path. Isn't technology grand.

off Wed., Thursday 8:30 and Friday 9:30!
COME ON AND GO WITH ME! I get lonely there without you! : )
